Actor Chris O’Donnell is taking it to the teeth, and giving it up for the kids. We commend his spirit and support his cause wholeheartedly – kids need to brush their teeth more!

For some reason brushing your teeth is something you look to get away with when you’re a kid, a horrible task to be avoided at all costs – sorta like eating brussel sprouts (or is it brussells sprouts?). Who knows if it’s only the rebellious anklebiters or if that tooth brushing defiance is hardwired into kid-dom. But one thing is for sure, we need more brushing advocates the likes of Mr. O’Donnell. Tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease in America, resulting in more than 51 million lost school hours each year[1].

According to the USA Today article O’Donnell has teamed up with Trident to raise funds to combat these statistics, we’ll report more on the results as they become available.

From Sept. 13 through Sept. 19, Trident donated five cents from every pack of Trident gum sold in the U.S. to Oral Health America’s Smiles Across America program, a non-profit organization that provides dental services to children in need. Their goal? To reach $600,000 in total donations by the 19th.

Check back to see if you helped them reach their goal! Click here for your comprehensive oral health plan – then bring it in on your next visit, we’ll be happy to explain and we look forward to being a more vocal partner in your overall family healthcare decision making process.

And give it up to Trident, Smiles Across America, and Mr. Chris O’Donnell!
